Building Musicianship and More…In Every Learner
The Highland Acres music room uses an Orff approach in teaching music. In the Orff classroom, children begin with what they do instinctively: PLAY!! Imitation, experimentation, and personal expression occur naturally as students become confident, life-long musicians and creative problem solvers. The Orff approach to teaching is a model for optimal learning in 21st Century classrooms.
Music is an essential part of your child's curriculum. It is a vital part of every known
society, that can be traced back to every culture throughout history. Through
it, one can communicate emotions, traditions, words, sounds, images and motion.
I hope my lessons help students learn to think, to apply and create so
that they might expand the quality of their life and the lives of others. I wish
to ignite both curiosity and passion in my students for a lifelong journey with
music.
